(A) When accessing the Legal & General Website You may see and access Legal & General Product Content. When accessing or viewing the Legal & General Product Content You agree and acknowledge that Legal & General Products are provided by the relevant regulated Legal & General Product Provider, which is an entity within the Legal & General Group that has the relevant authorisations and/or permissions to make Legal & General Products available to You:

(6) The relevant Legal & General Product Provider is responsible for Your Legal & General Products, Legal & General Product Content and any associated advertising or marketing distributed relating to the relevant Legal & General Products.

(7) The application and underlying technology and any Legal & General Content is provided by Legal & General Resources Limited.

(B) Nothing contained on the Legal & General Website constitutes technical, financial or legal advice or any other type of advice (including, without limitation, in relation to Legal & General Products) and it should not be relied on for any of these purposes. You must always use Your own independent judgement (or, if necessary, obtain Your own independent specialist advice) when using the Legal & General Website or before acquiring or receiving Legal & General Products.

(C) Separate terms and conditions apply to Legal & General Products You purchase or receive from Legal & General Product Providers and Your use of Our Self Service platforms and/or the Legal & General App. Additionally, if You are directed to another of Our sites separate terms and conditions may apply. For example Legal & General Investment Management Limited webpages are governed by separate terms and conditions. If there is any conflict between these Terms and the terms and conditions for Your Legal & General Products, Self Service platforms, Legal & General App and/or the other sites, the terms and conditions for Your Legal & General Products, Self Service platforms, Legal & General App and/or the other sites will apply rather than the equivalent provision in these Terms.

(D) If You cannot locate or do not have access to Your Legal & General Product terms and would like another copy, please contact Us.

2. Definitions

In these Terms, We use terminology/words which We have given a particular meaning. These defined terms are usually indicated by the relevant words which make up the defined term being in upper case. If You see a word in these Terms that is capitalised then You should check this clause to see if it has a particular or special meaning.

We have set out these defined terms used in these Terms in the table below:

“App Store”	means a mobile application store through which Legal & General makes available, and You can download, the Legal & General App (such as the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store).
“Content”	means Legal & General Content and Legal & General Product Content.
“External Services”	means services, advertising, mobile applications and/or websites that are not owned, provided or operated by any member of the Legal & General Group.
“Legal & General App”	means the Legal & General mobile application made available via an App Store.
“Legal & General Group”	means Legal & General Group PLC and any of its affiliates from time to time, including Legal & General Resources Limited and the Legal & General Product Providers.
“Legal & General Content”	means any text, logos, images, video, audio or other multimedia content, software or other information or material submitted to or accessible from any Legal & General Website which is not Legal & General Product Content.
“Legal & General Product Provider”	means the relevant legal entity within the Legal & General Group that is authorised and/or permitted to provide the relevant Legal & General Products.
“Legal & General Products”	means the various Savings & Investments, Pensions & Retirement and Insurance products offered by the Legal & General Group to You from time to time by a Legal & General Product Provider, each of which will be subject to, and governed by, separate terms and conditions.
“Legal & General Product Content”	means any text, logos, images, video, audio or other multimedia content, software or other information or material submitted to or accessible from the Legal & General Website which is related to Legal & General Products including any advertising or marketing material.
“Legal & General Self Service Platform”	means the Legal & General online self-service tools which include, without limitation, ‘My Account’, ‘Manage Your Account’ and ‘Online Self Service’ and is described here My Account Log in \| Legal & General (legalandgeneral.com)
“Legal & General Website”	means the Legal & General website provided by Legal & General Resources Limited.
“Legal & General”, “Our”, “Us” or “We”	means Legal & General Resources Limited, part of the Legal & General Group.
“Online Credentials”	means the online login details which You create when You sign up for digital services through the Legal & General App or the Legal & General Self Service Portal (which includes Your username, password and PIN).
“Terms”	means these Legal & General Digital Services Website Terms and Conditions.
“You”, “Your”, “User”	means you, the person accessing or using the Legal & General Website.
“Web Form”	means a form or request which is submitted to Legal & General via the Legal & General Website where the submitter does not have to use Online Credentials to log in order to access such form or request.

3. The Legal & General Website

3.1 Using the Legal & General Website: The Legal & General Website will, among other things, allow You to see and access certain information about the Legal & General Group, including Legal & General Products, and submit Web Forms. The Legal & General Website has not been tailored to Your specific requirements or circumstances and is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

3.2 You don’t own the Legal & General Website: You do not own the Legal & General Website or any of its Contents, but You may use it as permitted by these Terms.

3.3 Updates or changes to the Legal & General Website: We may update or amend the Legal & General Website from time to time for reasons that include fixing bugs or enhancing, changing or removing functionality.

3.4 Restrictions on Your Legal & General Website use: You are not permitted to:

(A) copy, reverse engineer, modify, adapt, duplicate, create derivative works from, display or commercially exploit any parts of the Legal & General Website, including either directly or through the use of another app or piece of software; or

(B) deliberately attempt to avoid or manipulate any security features included in the Legal & General Website.

3.5 Failures of networks or hardware: The Legal & General Website relies on a number of things working properly to enable You to enjoy all of its features. Many of these, such as Your internet connection, are entirely outside of Our control. Although We will do what We reasonably can to resolve issues.

3.6 Legal & General Website Support: We are responsible for customer service in relation to the Legal & General Website and can help You if You are having any issues. If You need support You should contact Us via the methods listed above.

3.7 Web Forms

(A) Legal & General may make Web Forms available to You from time to time in order to: (i) submit information; and/or (ii) make certain requests, to Legal & General and/or Legal & General Product Providers. If You complete and submit a Web Form to Legal & General, You:

(1) must ensure that all information, data and/or materials submitted are complete, accurate and relevant to the subject matter of the relevant Web Form;

(2) acknowledge and agree that where You have not been required to log in or create an account to submit a Web Form, the Legal & General Group cannot verify Your identity other than through the information provided in the Web Form;

(3) must not use or submit a Web Form, or include information, data and/or materials that is in breach of clause ‎4.1; and

(4) acknowledge and agree that We may reject or remove any submitted Web Forms that We, in Our sole discretion, deem to be in breach of (A) – (C) above.

(B) When You submit a Web Form, You will be asked to reconfirm that You acknowledge and agree to these Terms.

4. Inappropriate User behaviour

4.1 Acceptable use: As a condition of Your use of the Legal & General Website, You agree not to:

(A) inappropriately or maliciously use or attack the Legal & General Website by knowingly introducing viruses, or other harmful material;

(B) attempt to gain unauthorised access to computers, data, systems, accounts or networks (including, but not limited to the Legal & General Website, the server on which the Legal & General Website is stored or any server, computer or database connected to the Legal & General Website);

(D) send or upload anything that is (or might be considered to be) defamatory, offensive, obscene or discriminatory;

(E) infringe Legal & General Group’s or anyone else’s intellectual property or other rights (for example, by using or uploading someone else’s content); or

(F) do anything We may consider to be inappropriate or harmful.

4.2 What to do if You think something on the Legal & General Website is inappropriate: If You believe that any Content which is distributed by or published on the Legal & General Website is inappropriate You should contact Us immediately.

5. Your information

5.1 Personal Information: Your privacy and personal information are important to Us. Any personal information that You provide to Us will be dealt with in line with Our privacy policy available here, which explains what personal information We collect from You, how and why We collect, store, use and share such information, Your rights in relation to Your personal information and how to contact Us and supervisory authorities in the event You have a query or complaint about the use of Your personal information. 5.2 Technical Information: We may collect and use technical data in order to help Us provide software updates, product support, and other services related to the Legal & General Website.

6. Ownership, use and intellectual property rights

6.1 Legal & General and its licensors’ intellectual property: The intellectual property rights (including, but not limited to, all copyright, trade marks, domain names, design rights, database rights and patents) in the Legal & General Website and in Content are owned by Us and Our licensors. We and Our licensors reserve all intellectual property rights whether registered or unregistered anywhere in the world. This means, for example, that We and Our licensors remain owners of them and are free to use them as We (and they) see fit.

6.2 Your limited rights in the Legal & General Website and Content: Nothing in these Terms grants You any legal rights in the Legal & General Website or the Content other than as necessary for You to access it. You agree not to adjust, try to circumvent or delete any notices contained on the Legal & General Website or the Content (including any intellectual property notices) and in particular, in any digital rights or other security technology embedded or contained within the Legal & General Website or the Content.

6.3 What to do if another party claims Your use infringes their intellectual property: If any third-party claims that the Legal & General Website or Your access and use of the Legal & General Website infringes their intellectual property rights:

(A) You should notify Us immediately as soon as You become aware of such a third-party claim; and

(B) the Legal & General Group will be responsible for investigating the claim and, where appropriate, for defending, settling and/or discharging it.

7. Submitting information to Us via the Legal & General Website

7.1 We do not actively check information: While We try to make sure that the Legal & General Website is secure, We do not actively monitor or check whether information supplied to Us through the Legal & General Website or a Web Form is confidential, commercially sensitive or valuable.

7.2 Use of information: Other than any personal information which We will deal with in accordance with Our privacy policy and any information relating to your use of Legal & General Products which will be dealt with in accordance with the terms and conditions that apply to the relevant Legal & General Product, We do not guarantee that information supplied to Us through the Legal & General Website will be kept confidential and We may use it on an unrestricted and free-of-charge basis.

8. Accuracy of information and availability of Legal & General Website and Content

8.1 No promises about accuracy: We try to make sure that the Legal & General Website is accurate, up-to-date and free from bugs, but We cannot promise that it will be or that you will always be able to use it without delay or restriction. Any reliance that You may place on the information on the Legal & General Website is at Your own risk.

8.2 Content is for Your information: Any Content is provided by the Legal & General Group for Your general information purposes only and to inform You about the Legal & General Group’s products and news, features, services and other websites that may be of interest.

8.4 Availability of the Legal & General Website: While We try to make sure that the Legal & General Website is available for Your use, We do not promise that the Legal & General Website will be available at all times or that Your use of the Legal & General Website will be uninterrupted.

9.1 External Services: The Legal & General Website may contain hyperlinks or references to, or allow You to access, External Services. Any such access, hyperlinks or references are provided for Your convenience only.

9.2 We are not responsible for External Services: You understand that:

(A) the Legal & General Group has no control over External Services and accepts no legal responsibility for any content, material or information contained in them;

(B) the display of any hyperlink and reference to any External Services does not mean that Legal & General or any member of the Legal & General Group endorses that third-party's website, products or services; and

(C) the Legal & General Group is not responsible for examining or evaluating the content or accuracy of these External Services. Before using them, make sure You have read and agreed to the terms on which they are being offered to You including the way in which they may use Your personal information.

9.3 External Services might have their own rules: Your use of External Services may be governed by the terms and conditions of the third-party that operates or owns them and is at Your own risk. You must not use External Services in any way that:

(A) is inconsistent with these Terms or with the terms of the External Service; or

(B) infringes Our intellectual property rights, or the intellectual property rights of any third-party.

9.4 We can change links to External Services: From time to time, We may change or remove the External Services that are made available through the Legal & General Website.

10. Our responsibility to You

10.1 Where We are liable: If We breach these Terms or are negligent, We may be liable to You for foreseeable loss or damage that You suffer as a result. By ‘foreseeable’ We mean that, at the time these Terms were formed, it was either clear that such loss or damage would occur or You and We both knew that it might reasonably occur, as a result of something We did (or failed to do).

10.2 Where We are not liable: There are some things that We are not responsible to You for because, for example, they are out of Our control. Therefore, We cannot be responsible:

(A) for any loss or damage that was not foreseeable, any loss or damage not caused by Our breach or negligence, or any business loss or damage;

(B) under these Terms for anything not related to the use of the Legal & General Website;

(D) if You are unable to use all or any part of the Legal & General Website due to a poor internet connection or faulty components in Your device;

(E) for External Services; or

(F) for anything that is out of Our reasonable control, or it would not be reasonable to expect Us to control.

10.3 The limit on how much We are liable for: If We are liable to You under these Terms then, except for what is set out in clause ‎10.4, the amount We are liable to You for will not be more than £5,000.

10.4 What We can’t exclude or limit: Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits Our liability for any death or personal injury caused by Our negligence, liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that the law does not allow Us to exclude or limit.

11. No third-party rights

No one other than Legal & General or You has any right to enforce any term of these Terms.

12. Variation of these Terms

12.1 Changes only permitted under this clause: No changes to these Terms are valid or have any effect unless made in accordance with this clause ‎12.

12.2 Legal & General may amend the Terms

(A) We may vary these Terms from time to time (including, but not limited, to reflect changes in the Legal & General Website’s functionality, to deal with a security threat or if there is a change in law, regulation or guidance).

(B) Updated Terms will be displayed on the Legal & General Website and by continuing to use and access the Legal & General Website following such changes, You agree to be bound by any variation made by Us. It is generally Your responsibility to check these Terms from time to time to verify and understand any variations.

13. Complaints

13.1 If You have a complaint: We will try to resolve any disputes with You quickly and efficiently. If You are unhappy with Us, please contact Us as soon as possible.

13.2 What laws apply to these Terms? The laws of England and Wales apply to these Terms, although if You are resident elsewhere You will retain the benefit of any mandatory protections given to You by the laws of that country.

13.3 Which courts can rule on the Terms? Any disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. This means that You can choose whether to bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales or in the courts of another part of the UK in which You live.

14. Transferring these Terms

14.1 Our right to transfer: We may transfer Our rights under these Terms to another Legal & General Group entity without Your consent.

14.2 You can’t transfer without Our permission: You are not allowed to transfer Your rights under these Terms to anyone.
